All of Central Air Southwest’s cargo 500 B/Us have standardized cockpits, are IFR certified, GPS and Nexrad radar-equipped, and our planes are certified for flight into known icing conditions with the TKS Anti-Icing System. Though KCI is known internationally as a major airline hub and is a great airport for travelers, it doesn’t suit the fast-paced, all-hours needs for air cargo in Kansas City. MKC’s proximity to Kansas City and our two major interstates makes the Kansas City Wheeler Downtown airport a prime location.

Don’t let the smaller size of MKC fool you. It can accommodate up to 700 aircraft operations per day, covering 24 hours. Plus, the parking is much closer to the hangars here, providing easy access to private flights.

We frequently fly at night, and the lower air traffic at MKC during that time also helps us get in the air to anywhere more efficiently.

Central Air offers two different planes for private flights. First are passenger-configured Twin Commander 500 B’s, and we also have a Learjet 35A. When time is valuable, a charter flight with Central Air Southwest can help you save as much as possible.

All we ask is 2 days’ notice for your flight. If it’s an absolute emergency, let us know and we will do our very best to find a solution that works for you.

For your air freight shipping, Central Air Southwest is a certified Part-135 air carrier, managed by seasoned professionals, specializing in cargo, and we have been in business for over 50+ years. Your cargo is our mission, and we look forward to serving you.

We’re also licensed to transport radioactive pharmaceuticals and have approval to carry a total of 200 TI in our cargo-only aircraft with our USDOT SP15255 permit.

We work closely with our clients to determine their unique air transportation needs. Once we understand what a client wants to accomplish, we can help them choose the optimal air transportation service to meet those needs and their budget needs.

• Air Network Alliance Service. We charge by the box or by the # of occupied cargo stations.
• Ad-Hoc Service. These costs generally run a bit higher than contracted services since aircraft fuel cannot be purchased on a contract basis and dedicated flight crews may have to be displaced from their home base temporarily to meet the customers’ needs.

Yes, our ad-hoc service allows us to charter aircraft that will go from point to point. Contact us and we can talk through scheduling and shipment/cargo details. We’ll then get you a quote and trip times.

We have transported a single human organ in a cooler across the country. We can also transport 1,000 to 1,200 pounds of your cargo, depending on the live leg segment in the Twin Commander. If a faster Learjet is chosen, the weight limit is 500 pounds for cargo.

We chose these aircraft because they exhibit higher reliability and are built to last. Their utilitarian design makes them easier to retrofit with cutting-edge avionics, plus they’re faster than most of our direct competitors’ fleets.

Our fleet consists mostly of two types of aircraft. Our Twin Commander is a 200 MPH aircraft, and our Learjet is a 500 plus MPH aircraft. The Aero Commander has a 1,100 SM range, and the Learjet 35A has a 2,700 SM range.
